Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], July 23 (ANI): A Shiv Sena leader has approached Mumbai Police and lodged a complaint demanding that the telecast of the OTT show "Bigg Boss 3" be stopped. The complaint alleges that the show's actors engaged in "lewd and offensive behaviour," raising concerns about its impact on social values and family relationships.
Dr Manisha Kayande, Secretary and Spokesperson of Shiv Sena, along with other members, met Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar on Monday and submitted a written complaint expressing concerns over the content aired in the episode of Bigg Boss Season 3 on July 18, 2024.
Dr Kayande highlighted that the episode depicted actors engaging in lewd and offensive behaviour, which she described as trampling social values and crossing the boundaries of family relationships, according to a press release.
The Shiv Sena leader has called for the immediate cessation of the show and demanded strict action against its producers and the CEO of the broadcasting company. She has requested the Commissioner of Police to investigate whether the episode has gone viral on various social media platforms and to take appropriate legal action against those involved, the release added.
"Bigg Boss 3 is a reality show. The shooting is ongoing. It's an absolute vulgarity that is being depicted. The YouTube influencer is also participating, and now he has crossed all limits of vulgarity. For the scenes being shown, we have requested Mumbai Police to take action, and we have given them a letter," Dr Kayande said while speaking to ANI.
"This public display of vulgarity in the name of reality shows, how far is it correct? How does it influence young minds?... We will also go to the Information and Broadcasting Minister at the centre and request to bring in a law in this current session of parliament on the OTT platforms," she added. (ANI)
