Shimla: No snowfall on New Year Eve leaves tourists disappointed
Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], Jan.2 (ANI): After celebrating New Year Eve at the historic Ridge Maidan, the tourist here desperately waited for snow to fall, but were left disappointed. Although enjoying the chill and soothing weather, the tourist who visited from different part of the country wasn't very much satisfied as there was no snowfall which is generally expected here at this time of year. "Shimla is a nice place to celebrate New Year. This was my first visit to this place. We were expecting snowfall, but could not witness any. So, we are a bit disappointed" said Manpreet Singh, a tourist. "We were expecting a bit of snow here, because, after 25 years, there was snowfall on Christmas. But we did not see any snow, so, a bit of disappointment was there. But our experience was good," said Rajiv Shrivastava, another tourist. However, the tourist visiting here still enjoyed the New Year night party and carnival which drew majority of crowd to the place. As per a rough estimate over one lakh tourists visited Shimla on December 31. (ANI)
