New Delhi [India], Apr 6 (ANI): After joining Congress on Saturday, former BJP member Shatrughan Sinha hit out at the Union Minister for Railways Piyush Goyal and said, “Nobody will recognize Piyush as Agriculture Minister if he goes to the market.”
Earlier on today, Goyal had said," Why has Sinha had been quiet for so long? Is he trying to save his position?"
On being asked about the same, Sinha replied, "Goyal would be constrained to say this. He is a good human being and must be given lollipop by the party. Even he has to save his job.”
“There are many deserving leaders who have not given any position. These are the old tactics of BJP to get attention. Who knows ministers? With due respect, nobody will recognize Piyush as agriculture minister if he goes to the market," Sinha added.
Sinha went on to add, "I did not take the decision to leave BJP overnight. I was in the party for 25 years. I saw that this (BJP) government was a one-man show and two men army. It had turned autocratic."
"Yashwant Sinha left BJP as he was compelled to. Such circumstances were also created in front of Jaswant Singh, Arun Shourie and others. We all know about what happened with Murli Manohar Joshi and Lal Krishna Advani. My fault is that I always spoke the truth and stood with Advani," he added.
Sinha said, "I had never demanded anything from the party. We have seen the impact of this government on media also, how media persons started singing the songs of BJP. Then I made up my mind that now enough is enough. Many leaders like Mamta Banerjee, Mayawati, Arvind Kejriwal, Akhilesh Yadav and Lalu Yadav were also inviting me to meet."
Recalling that today is the founding day of the BJP he said, "The party was like a family to him (Sinha) and I respect it. Painfully I left the BJP and joined the Congress party, which has great leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Indira Gandhi, Jawahar Lal Nehru, Vallabhbhai Patel and Rahul Gandhi. I will be serving the nation under the wings of Congress party,” he said and vowed to make his new party strong.
He alleged that BJP had warned him of throwing out of the party and Sinha said, “BJP should remember Newton's third law that every action has its equal and opposite reaction. I was with the party but today I quit when it has fielded a candidate from my constituency (Patna Sahib)."
"I had been an integral part of the BJP for almost last 25 years and shared good and bad times together. I used to say that BJP is my first and last party but when I came to know that I am not the only one who is being ill-treated by the party but also the founding members of the BJP and senior leaders like, LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Arun Shourie, Jaswant Singh and Yashwant Sinha, who took BJP from 2 to 200 seats." Sinha said. (ANI)
