Sharif will deny all acts of terror sponsored by Pak which India must accept: JD(U)

New Delhi [India], Sept. 22 (ANI): Rubbishing Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's speech at the United Nations on Wednesday, the Janata Dal (United) today said that Sharif will deny all acts of terror sponsored by his country, adding that India must learn to accept this situation and proceed with its diplomatic, offensive and other measures. JD (U)spokesperson Pawan Varma told ANI that no amount of evidence given to Sharif or his government will make him change his views. "It was only predictable that Mr. Nawaz Sharif would rake up Kashmir at the United Nations. We should have been prepared for it. I am glad that we were and we will give a befitting reply," Varma said ahead of Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj's address to the UNGA on Monday. "Mr. Nawaz Sharif will seek to claim total deniability on the acts of terror sponsored by Pakistan and no amount of evidence, we give to him or his government will make him change his views. So, India must learn to accept this situation and proceed with its diplomatic, offensive and other measures accordingly," he added. Stating that it was appropriate to summon Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit, Varma said, "It should have been done immediately after Uri. I don't know why there was such a lapse of time." "If a country has to register a protest, it must do so immediately, and if necessary, call the high commissioner again. The same high commissioner, who on the independence day of Pakistan said that this day, this year, is dedicated to the liberation of Jammu and Kashmir," he added. Varma reiterated, "The essential point I wish to make clear is evidence should be given to Pakistan. The dossiers that we have submitted after the carnage in Mumbai of 26/11." Earlier, Pakistan's Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said, "Burhan Wani, the young leader murdered by Indian forces, has emerged as the symbol of the latest Kashmiri Intifada, a popular and peaceful freedom movement, led by Kashmiris." "The Security Council has called for the exercise of the right to self- determination by the people of Jammu and Kashmir through a free and fair plebiscite held under the UN auspices. The Security Council must honour its commitments by implementing its own decisions," he said. He further demanded an independent inquiry and a UN fact finding mission to investigate the situation in Kashmir. Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani (22) was killed by the Indian security forces in an encounter on July 8. He was prolific on social media and used the same to reach out to the youth while spreading the message of jihad. His killing has triggered massive protests in Kashmir. (ANI)
