Sharad Yadav says V.K Singh always makes 'bad statements'
New Delhi [India], Nov. 4 (ANI): Senior Janata Dal (United) leader Sharad Yadav on Friday cautioned Union minister of State of State for External Affairs and former Army chief General V K Singh to avoid the practice of making bad statements all the time. "It is an unethical statement. Whether he is from any party does not matter, he is an Army jawan. In the times of elections come, he will support some party or other. Now that he has retired and is fighting elections from an opposition party doesn't mean that his grievances won't be addressed. If he is a Congress man, then won't he be heard?" questioned senior JD (U) leader Sharad Yadav. "Whenever he speaks, he makes bad statements," Yadav said on General (Retired) V.K. Singh's comment with regard to the suicide of ex-armyman R.K. Grewal. Adding a twist to the latest friction between the government and the Opposition, Singh said that Ram Kishan Grewal was a Congress worker and had become sarpanch of his village in Haryana on a Congress ticket. "But all of us are sad that he (Grewal) died in this way. It is unfortunate that a few groups are doing politics over a sad event," Singh said in Hapur. He also said that connecting OROP to Grewal's death was "manufactured" by the media. Ram Kishen Grewal served for nearly 30 years before winning an election in his village in Haryana to serve as its sarpanch (head of village council) after retirement. At his cremation on Thursday, the former subedar drew the country's biggest politicians. From Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, busy schedules were cleared to travel 100 kilometres to Bhiwani to claim that they stand by army. (ANI)
