Shahabuddin`s `suit, boot` jail selfies leave prison authorities confounded
Siwan(Bihar)[India], Jan. 7(ANI): Former Member of Parliament Mohammed Shahabuddin's shocking selfies from within the Siwan jail, where he is imprisoned for murder among other charges, has left the prison authorities and administration perplexed. In the selfies that have gone viral, Shahabuddin is seen in an entirely new get-up with shaven head and trimmed moustache and a suit. Shahabuddin has been serving prison sentence in Siwan Jail, Bihar since 2007 for kidnapping with intent to kill. However, authorities claim the photograph was shot outside the jail and they conducted a raid in the jail and recovered four cell phones as well as four SIM cards from the jail premises, but none of them belonged to Shahabuddin. The police have registered a case against four persons in connection with the incident. The RJD leader has been debarred from contesting election in 2009 general elections. Shahabuddin is currently lodged in his home town Siwan jail while a petition seeking his shifting to high-security Delhi's Tihar jail has been pending with the Supreme Court. He is facing trial in 45 criminal cases. (ANI)
