"Self-proclaimed Vishawagurus condoning Israel's war crimes": CPI (M) leader MA Baby on Middle-east situation

"India has been a supporter of Palestine since the beginning, and now the Prime Minister is not asking Israel to stop the attack. It is the independent struggle of the Palestinian people for the country and it is not right to compare it with the terrorist act. Israel is carrying out unilateral attacks on Palestine and it is not right for America and other countries to support and provoke it", said MA Baby while speaking to ANI.

Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh) [India], November 23 (ANI): Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader MA Baby on Thursday criticised the Centre led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), alleging that the "self-proclaimed Vishwagurus" are condoning Israel's war crimes.
The CPI (M) leader also claimed that despite India being a supporter of Palestine, the Prime Minister has kept mum about Israel's "war crimes."
"The RSS methods are similar to the fascist methods followed by Israel; that is why Modi is not talking about Israel's attacks. The self-proclaimed Vishwagurus are condoning Israel's war crimes", Baby added.
The CPI (M) leader further said, "Israel is doing what Hitler (Adolf Hitler) did in Germany in the past. No one is questioning that from January to October of this year, 248 Palestinians were shot dead by Israeli forces, including 40 children."
He said that the killing of innocent people in Palestine is painful and that the local war threatens to spread to the entire region.
MA Baby appealed to India to demand a ceasefire there, to provide medical aid and to liberate Palestine from Israeli aggression.
"The United Nations should also take immediate action. The media there also mentioned that the incident that took place on October 7 was due to Israel's atrocities. However, the US was criticised for giving in to the attacks. The Union Finance Minister is saying that if Israel's war does not stop, it will affect the world economy and the economy will be damaged", he further stated.
During the October 7 Hamas offensive into Israel, there were more than 1,200 deaths of Israeli citizens, with over 240 people being taken hostage.
Alternatively, the retaliatory attack on Gaza by the Israel Defence Forces has resulted in the deaths of over 12,000 Palestinians so far, according to CNN.
Meanwhile, the Executive Director of the United Nations Children's Fund has named the Gaza Strip the most dangerous place" in the world to be a child, reports CNN.
"More than 5,300 Palestinian children have been reportedly killed in just 46 days ... That's over 115 a day, every day, for weeks and weeks," UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell said in a video on Wednesday while addressing the UN Security Council.
"Based on these figures, children account for 40 per cent of the deaths in Gaza," she added.
Meanwhile, a temporary four-day ceasefire was announced in a statement by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday.
A post shared on Netanyahu's X, formerly Twitter, page stated, "Tonight, the Government has approved the outline of the first stage of achieving this goal, according to which at least 50 hostages - women and children - will be released over four days, during which a pause in the fighting will be held."
With the transfer of hostages during the ceasefire, Palestinian prisoners will also be released from Israeli jail, per Hamas's demands, The Hill reported.
An Israeli source has stated that the four-day lull in fighting, would be on hold and that Israeli military operations in Gaza would continue as long as the agreement is not finalized. (ANI)
