New Delhi [India], July 20 (ANI): Congress MP Manickam Tagore on Sunday said that security "lapses" responsible for the Pahalgam terror incident is the most important agenda from the opposition in the upcoming Parliament session, adding that the "failure" of following Operation Sindoor will also be raised.
Speaking to ANI, Manickam Tagore said, "Yesterday, 24 parties came together and had a very positive meeting. Broadly, four important issues have been identified, and there are many more issues that we will work on. The security lapses responsible for the Pahalgam incident are the most important agenda ,and a foreign policy failure after Operation Sindoor is an important issue. The third issue is the ongoing electoral system rigging in Bihar and the urgent need to restore full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. All 24 parties of India are going to work together in Parliament, and the united INDIA alliance will give sleepless nights to the ruling party, which has continuously made blunders after blunders."
Earlier today, Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment and Republican Party of India (Athawale) chief Ramdas Athawale on Sunday said that the government is ready to answer all the questions that will be raised by the opposition in the upcoming Parliament session.
"All parties have called for the all-party meeting today to run the House well. The government will answer the questions that will be raised. It is the responsibility of the Opposition to participate in the discussions. If they want to raise an issue, then the Government will deliberate on that. The speaker will deliberate. We believe that the House should function peacefully," Atahawale told reporters.
Revolutionary Socialist Party MP NK Premachandran on Sunday said that the Pahalgam terrorist attack incident, Operation Sindoor and its aftermath will be the topmost issue on the opposition's agenda in the upcoming Parliament session set to begin on July 21.
In the upcoming session, the government is likely to introduce and pass the several bills including the Lok Sabha Manipur Goods and Services Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2025, Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill, 2025, Indian Institutes of Management (Amendment) Bill, 2025, Taxation Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2025, Geo-Heritage Sites and Geo-Relics (Conservation and Maintenance) Bill, 2025, Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2025, National Sports Governance Bill, 2025, National Anti-Doping (Amendment) Bill, 2025.
With a packed legislative agenda and an aggressive opposition, the Monsoon Session is expected to be politically charged. The government is likely to introduce and pass several key bills, which will be closely watched by the Opposition and other stakeholders.
The monsoon session of Parliament will continue till August 21. (ANI)
