Security Forces bust hideouts prior to Republic Day in Kishtwar

Kishtwar (Jammu and Kashmir)[India], Jan. 23(ANI): The Army, in a joint operation with the Jammu and Kashmir Police, on Monday, busted a militant hideout in Chhatru region of Kishtwar district and seized a huge cache of arms, ammunition and war like stores ahead of the Republic Day celebrations.

Kishtwar (Jammu and Kashmir)[India], Jan. 23(ANI): The Army, in a joint operation with the Jammu and Kashmir Police, on Monday, busted a militant hideout in Chhatru region of Kishtwar district and seized a huge cache of arms, ammunition and war like stores ahead of the Republic Day celebrations. Based on specific intelligence input, Army launched a joint operation with J & K Police in Hilnar area of Chhatru tehsil. The team came upon a suspicious natural cave, whereupon, on further probing and digging, forces recovered one AK-47, one Pistol with Magazine (Chinese), one Under Barrel Grenade Launcher, seven Grenades of Under Barrel Grenade Launcher, two Chinese Hand Grenades, three AK-47 Magazines, 428 rounds of 7.62mm AK-47 and two radio sets. This recovery of warlike stores and destruction of the hideout close to January 26, in the sensitive area of Chhatru, has delivered a decisive blow to the nefarious designs of terrorists, attempting to disrupt peace in the region. It has also reiterated the total domination of security forces in the Kishtwar District and showcased the close co-ordination between Army and J&K Police.(ANI)
