Satyapal Singh demands action against Mann for 'shameful' act
New Delhi, July 22 (ANI): Former Mumbai police commissioner and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Satyapal Singh today condemned Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) lawmaker Bhagwant Mann for exposing the Parliament's security arrangements in a video and demanded strict action against him. The former top cop said that Mann's move to post the video clip of his journey from home to the Parliament House, including going past the various security pickets, on Facebook is a matter of serious concern as it puts the lives of not only the lawmakers but thousands of security personnel deployed on duty at risk. "It seems as if he is making fun of the Parliament's security arrangements. The manner in which the Parliament's security arrangements have been violated is extremely condemnable," Singh added. Responding to a poser on Mann now defending his act, Singh said if the AAP MP now claims that he has not done anything wrong and would do something like this again then it is extremely childish on his part. "If a Member of Parliament makes such remarks then it is extremely shameful," Singh stated. Singh further said that the BJP would raise this issue in the Parliament today and demand strict investigation against Mann as this is a very sensitive issue. "I believe this issue is not only about the Bharatiya Janata Party or the MPs who sit in the Parliament, but also related to the security arrangements of thousands of those who work there," he said. Meanwhile, commenting on reports suggesting that the AAP receives foreign funding, Singh said the intelligence agencies and the Government of India must get this matter investigated. "Some reports are coming in which suggests that the finding is coming from those sources which can be really harmful for our country," he said. (ANI)
