Sasikala Pushpa takes on Amma, says 'won't resign' from RS
New Delhi, Aug 1 (ANI): Rajya Sabha MP Sasikala Pushpa , who has been expelled from the AIADMK for 'bringing a bad name' to the party by slapping DMK MP Tiruchi Siva, today said that she would not resign from the Upper House and vowed to fight against those who were on the wrong side. Elucidating that she was captured at Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa's Pose Garden residence, Pushpa said that she was severely harassed by the AIADMK supremo, adding she is presently receiving threats for not stepping down from her Rajya Sabha post. "I am ready to fight against anyone, who is not right. From the past two months, I have been compelled to resign from my post by the party leadership. Jayalalithaa personally spoke to me and asked me to resign. As per the Constitution, unless and otherwise if I myself resign, nobody can compel me to resign," said Pushpa. "I was harassed in Tamil Nadu where they have not even allowed me to go to my home. They made me stay in Pose Garden like jail. The servants treated me like dogs. They are not even giving me back my phone. I am getting life threats. If anything happens to me and my family then it will be because of this issue only," she added. On being asked if she has been ousted from the AIADMK, Pushpa said, "I hope so by this time I must be expelled. I came to know that I have been expelled from the party. I am very happy now because I can work on my own." Pushpa assaulted the DMK MP at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi on Saturday, allegedly over the latter talking ill about her party and its leader. Pushpa said, "I noticed Siva while collecting my scanned luggage. Suddenly, he started goading me by making remarks against the AIADMK Government and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister. I ignored him for some time, but lost cool as he continued with the tirade and hence slapped him." However, Pushpa today told the Rajya Sabha that she was being forced to resign from her constitutional post. Pushpa told the Speaker that she is being threatened and forced to resign from the Rajya Sabha. She also claimed that said she was even slapped by Jayalalithaa. (ANI)
