"Sapne dekhne ka haq sabko hai": CPIM leader Hannan Mollah on BJP's chances in Haryana

New Delhi [India], October 7 (ANI): After the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) exuded confidence that it would form the government in Haryana for the third time even after the exit polls projected a clean sweep by the INDIA bloc, Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader Hannan Mollah said farmers, who are in majority in Haryana, are upset with the ruling party and the BJP is dreaming that they will win on October 8.
Mollah said, "Sapne dekhne ka haq sabko hai. In the same way, the BJP is also dreaming that it will form the government in Haryana. Not giving farmers a fair price for their crops, not accepting their demands--these issues have caused distress among the farmers of Haryana, as we saw during the farmers' protest. An anti-BJP sentiment has developed among the farmers in Haryana."
"Khattar's reputation has been so damaged that he couldn't hold a meeting in Haryana for an entire year. In this context, it was clear that the situation for the INDIA bloc is better this time. The result of October 8 will go against the BJP," the CPI(M) leader added.
This comes after the exit polls predicted a clean sweep for the Congress party in Haryana, with some polls predicting the party winning more than 50 of the 90 seats in the assembly.
Earlier, farmer leader Rakesh Tikait said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government will be defeated because they lathi-charged the farmers.
"The government which does lathicharge, will not stay in power. Farmers can't do lathi-charge on Police, they would take revenge during elections and they did it. The (BJP) govt will be defeated, Congress will form the govt," said Rakesh Tikait.
The TV-Today C voter projection said that the party may win 50-58 seats in the state, while the BJP can win 20-28 seats. The others can win 10-16 seats.
The majority mark to form the government in the 90-member assembly is 46.
According to the Republic TV-Matrize poll, the Congress Party may get 55-62 seats out of 90, while the BJP is poised to win18-24 seats.
Amid the exit polls projections against the BJP in Haryana, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday exuded confidence in forming a government "alone", saying, they have "all the arrangements."
The single-phase polling for 90 Assembly Constituencies in Haryana concluded peacefully on Saturday across more than 20,000 polling stations with a final voter turnout of 65.65 per cent.
According to the Election Commission of India (ECI), single-phase polling for General Elections to the Legislative Assembly of Haryana recorded an approximate voter turnout of 65.65 per cent as of 11:45 pm, which beats the Lok Sabha 2024 voter turnout of 64.8 per cent in the state. (ANI)
