UP Congress Secretary Narendra Rathi speaking to ANI

New Delhi [India], March 24 (ANI): Haryanavi singer and dancer Sapna Chaudhary on Sunday categorically denied that she had joined the Congress, a day after  UP Congress chief Raj Babbar tweeted a picture of the singer along with Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and welcomed her into the party.
Chaudhary told media persons earlier today that she has not joined the Congress and will not be campaigning for any political party.
“I have not joined the Congress party. The photograph with Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is old. I have met Priyanka Gandhi several times before and she is very good but I am not going to campaign for any political party,” she told media persons.
Exhibiting surprise over Chaudhary’s claim, UP Congress Secretary Narendra Rathi on Sunday said he is in possession of the party membership forms allegedly signed by Chaudhary and claimed that the singer, dancer had joined the party on Saturday in his presence.
Rathi is seen alongside Chaudhary in the photograph where she seems to be jotting something on a paper, which looks like a form. The same picture was circulated the Congress party by filling the membership form.
Sapna Chaudhary came to UP Congress Committee camp office at 18, Ashoka Road in New Delhi yesterday. She was accompanied by her sister, Shivani. We had instructions from high command regarding her joining the party. I gave her a membership form. She filled it herself and signed the same thus effectively joining the party. Both of them also gave us five rupees each as joining fee,” Rathi told ANI.
He also said he has both the forms allegedly signed by Sapna Chaudhary and her sister.
Earlier in the day, dancer and singer Sapna Chaudhary flipped from the earlier reports of her joining the Congress and said that she hasn’t joined any political party and nor would campaign for any political outfit. (ANI)
