"Sanjay Saraogi has lot of experience, will strengthen party's base": Bihar Assembly speaker hails new state BJP chief's appointment

Patna (Bihar) [India], December 18 (ANI): Bihar Assembly Speaker Prem Kumar on Thursday expressed confidence in the newly appointed Bihar BJP president Sanjay Saraogi, saying his appointment has generated enthusiasm and renewed zeal among party workers across the state.
Speaking to ANI, Prem Kumar said that Saraogi brings vast experience in organisational, governmental and legislative work, along with a strong track record of addressing people's issues. "There is enthusiasm and zeal among the workers. Sanjay Saraogi has been appointed as the state president of Bihar. He has a lot of experience in organisation, government and legislative works, and in resolving people's problems," he said.
Praising Saraogi's long association with the party, the Speaker said that he has always served the BJP with dedication. Prem Kumar expressed confidence that under Saraogi's leadership, the party would further strengthen its base in Bihar.
"He has always served the party. In the future, he will expand the party and work to realise the dreams of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay and Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee," Prem Kumar added.
Earlier, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday extended greetings to Sanjay Saraogi on being appointed as the Bihar state president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
In a post on X, the Chief Minister wrote, "Heartiest congratulations and best wishes to Shri Sanjay Saraogi Ji on being appointed as the BJP State President. Shri Sanjay Saraogi Ji has also served as a ministerial colleague in the cabinet. He has been elected as an MLA for the fifth time. Heartiest best wishes to him for this new responsibility."
Sanjay Saraogi, a six-time legislator from Darbhanga, has been appointed as the new Bihar state president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), with immediate effect. Saraogi has replaced the current Bihar BJP President, Dilip Jaiswal, who serves as Minister of Industries in Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's cabinet.
On being appointed as state BJP president, Saraogi said, "The party is like my mother, and I will definitely work with honesty, loyalty, and patience to strengthen the party."
Sanjay Saraogi has been elected as an MLA for six consecutive terms, starting with his first victory in February 2005 from the Darbhanga constituency. He successfully retained his seat in the subsequent elections of November 2005, 2010, 2015, 2020, and 2025, marking two decades of continuous representation. (ANI)
