Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], September 2 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president V D Sharma has said that the membership drive of the party is starting from today across the country and prime minister Narendra Modi will take membership as first member in the presence of BJP national president JP Nadda.
Sharma also said that he would administer the membership to CM Mohan Yadav under the membership drive at the state BJP office tomorrow, September 3.
"The festival of organisation (Sangathan Parva) is starting from today in the country and we are all fortunate that today at 5 pm, BJP's National President JP Nadda will administer the membership to PM Modi. On this occasion, lakhs of people will become members of the BJP across the country," V D Sharma told reporters here.
"People can take the membership of the party by making a missed call on '8800002024'. The first missed call will be made by PM Modi in the presence of BJP chief Nadda today. Apart from this, membership will also be done through QR code, Namo app and BJP's official website," he said.
Besides, where there is no network, the membership campaign will be taken forward through filing application forms of the party, the BJP leader added.
He further said, "Tomorrow, I will administer the membership to Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and along with him, all the cabinet ministers of the state will also take membership at the state party office."
"There is a target of making 10 crore new BJP members in the country and 1.5 crore new members in Madhya Pradesh of the party," he added.
PM Modi will launch 'Sangathan Parva, Sadasyata Abhiyan 2024' at BJP headquarters Extension Office in the national capital in the presence of BJP National President JP Nadda on Monday evening.
As per sources, primary membership would be done through missed calls (8800002024), the NaMo App, QR codes, and traditional application forms, ensuring that people in areas with limited mobile coverage or those without mobile phones can participate.
A National Team, under the convenorship of Vinod Tawde, National General Secretary, has been formed to oversee the campaign. State, District and Mandal teams, along with Morchas and Cells, will also be established, with a focus on media, social media and IT coordination.
The membership drive will be conducted in two phases--September 2 to September 25 and October 1 to October 15. Each phase will target specific milestones, ensuring a comprehensive reach across the country. (ANI)
