Samajwadi Party responsible for western UP's Kashmir-like situation: BJP
New Delhi [India], Jan. 31 (ANI): Supporting radical leader Yogi Adityanath's recent remarks about western Uttar Pradesh, the Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday accused the Samajwadi Party of spoiling the socio-economic situation of the state. BJP UP president Keshav Prasad Mourya said if people have to leave their own homes, the situation is akin to that of Kashmir. "If people have to leave their own homes, then the condition of the state is definitely like Kashmir's. And who is responsible for this? The Samajwadi Party," Mourya said. A day before, BJP leader Yogi Adityanath drew parallel between the conditions of western Uttar Pradesh and Kashmir in 1990. While addressing a rally at Dhaulana, Uttar Pradesh, Adityanath said the Hindus were being terrorised in western Uttar Pradesh (Kairana and Kandhla) like the Kashmiri Pandits were terrorised and forced to flee the Kashmir Valley back in the 1990s. Commenting on Rahul Gandhi's taunts against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Union Government, Mourya said Rahul Gandhi can only talk but, cannot work. "The youth only makes fun of Rahul Gandhi on every question of his. If he has raised a question on any issue regarding the Modi government, it's the youth which has replied to him. He opposed demonetisation and the Congress lost badly in every election held after that. The state of the Congress in the upcoming polls is going to be worse than this," he said. He added, "If Modiji can talk, he can work too. He is working towards the development of the nation. India will become the No 1 nation in the world under PM Modi. Rahul Gandhi should keep a watch and we will show him how to work for the betterment of the youth of the nation." Further commenting on the political battlefield set in Uttar Pradesh for the upcoming assembly polls, Mourya expressed confidence in his party's win. "The Samajwadi Party doesn't have anything that the BJP should be afraid of. The SP, Congress can say whatever they want to against the BJP. But the farmers and the youth are watching us. And they know what we have done," he said. The poll process in Uttar Pradesh begins on February 11. 73 constituencies in western UP will go in polls in this phase. The state is set to have a seven-phase polling between February 11 and March 8. (ANI)
