S. Sunderlal sworn-in as Manipur Municipality Property Tax Board chairman

Imphal (Manipur) [India], Oct. 1 (ANI): IAS Officer (Retd.) S. Sunderlal was sworn-in as the chairman of Manipur Municipality Property Tax Board by Governor Dr Najima Heptulah at the Durbar Hall of Raj Bhavan here on Saturday.

Imphal (Manipur) [India], Oct. 1 (ANI): IAS Officer (Retd.) S. Sunderlal was sworn-in as the chairman of Manipur Municipality Property Tax Board by Governor Dr Najima Heptulah at the Durbar Hall of Raj Bhavan here on Saturday. Sunderlal will serve as the first chairman of Manipur Municipality Property Tax Board, which was constituted by the Manipur Administration Urban and Housing Development (MAHUD). Property Tax is the most important source of revenue for the Urban Local Body (ULB). Residential and Non-residential (Commercial) properties, situated within the limits of ULB, are assessed for tax. Based on such assessments, the taxes are levied on the property owners. The information regarding all the new constructions, existing construction and modifications to the property are to be provided by the Town Planning Department for making necessary changes for tax assessment. The state government will be notifying from time to time by notification, specify the area where, the general valuation of lands and buildings by the Property Tax Board, to the determination of annual valuation provided that the Property Tax Board may make, subject to such conditions as may be prescribed, the general valuation of lands and buildings in the area as aforesaid or in any part thereof under its superintendence, direction and control, and every such valuation shall be deemed to have been made by the Property Tax Board.
