RSS questions Rahul about what Cong. has done to resolve Kashmir issue

New Delhi [India], July 22 (ANI): The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Saturday hit out at Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi for cornering the Centre over the Jammu and Kashmir unrest and appealed for cooperation to resolve the issue. "The Kashmir issue emerged at the time India was just divided. This issue emerged because of the then Delhi and Jammu and Kashmir Government. Had they dealt with this problem in a right manner, then there would not have been any such issue today. Rahul Gandhi is creating more trouble. This is unfortunate," RSS leader Indresh Kumar told ANI. He further questioned the Congress vice president and former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Farooq Abdullah as to what steps they have taken to improve the situation in the Kashmir Valley. "I want to ask Rahul Gandhi and Farooq Abdullah what steps they have taken to bring peace and harmony in Kashmir. Those who have not done anything to bring peace in the Valley, during their governance, have no right to create unrest," he added. Appealing to the political parties to cooperate in improving the turbulent situation in the Kashmir, Kumar further said they should not worsen the situation by making such statements. Earlier in the day, Rahul Gandhi came in the firing line of the BJP also for his barbs against the saffron brigade. Gandhi scion in Bengaluru had slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the Centre while digging out issues including Rohith Vemula suicide case, Dadri lynching case and demonetisation drive. The BJP leaders questioned Rahul Gandhi's leadership abilities and attacked the functioning of the Congress. Farooq Abdullah on Friday had said that India should approach third parties, such as the United States and China, to mediate in the Kashmir issue. Adbullah said India has so many allies across the globe, which can be approached for settling the Kashmir issue to act as a mediator between India and Pakistan. "For how long are you going to wait? Sometimes, you have to pull the bull by its horns. The way is to have a dialogue. India has so many friends all across the world. They can ask them to act as a mediator. U.S. President Trump himself said that he wants to settle Kashmir problem. China also said that it wants to mediate in Kashmir. Somebody has to be approached," he said. Rahul refuted this assertion and said, "I have been asserting for long that it's Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his policies at the Centre that have destroyed Jammu and Kashmir. And the point that is being mentioned that a third party's intervention should be invited for the settlement of the issue, it's wrong. India is Kashmir and Kashmir is India." "It's our internal matter and no other country should have any say in it," he added. (ANI)
