Rs 1.58 crores spent on MP CM Kamal Nath's visit to Davos, reveals RTI
New Delhi [India], Apr 24 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath's visit to Switzerland to participate in World Economic Forum in January this year costed Rs. 1,57,85,000 on the state exchequer, an RTI reply revealed on Wednesday.
New Delhi [India], Apr 24 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath's visit to Switzerland to participate in World Economic Forum in January this year costed Rs. 1,57,85,000 on the state exchequer, an RTI reply revealed on Wednesday.
“It is hereby clarified that a Representative of the Confederation of Indian Industry, Madhya Pradesh is also accompanying the delegation and the financial sanction of Rs. 1,57,85,000 accorded for the visit to Davos covers the cost of air tickets, air accommodation, etc of the CII representative,” the Madhya Pradesh government said in a reply to the RTI.
The response to the RTI showed that the state government believed that if the visit is not undertaken, Madhya Pradesh "may lose the opportunities of investment promotion to get investment in the state."
The reply by the state government further said that the delegation led by Nath consisted of S.R Mohanty, Chief Secretary, Ashok Barnwal, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, and Mohammad Suleman, Principal Secretary, Department of Industrial Policy and Investment Production.
The World Economic Forum was held from January 21-25 this year in Switzerland’s Davos. (ANI)
