Request owner of property to donate it for temple: Uma Bharti on Ayodhya issue
New Delhi [India], Mar. 21 (ANI): Following the Supreme Court describing the Ram Mandir issue in Ayodhya as "sensitive" and "sentimental", Union Minister Uma Bharti on Tuesday expressed happiness and appealed the owner of the contentious property to donate it for the construction of the temple. "I am very happy that the Supreme Court has proposed for the concerned parties to arrive at a consensus outside the court," Bharti told ANI. "The name of the land owner is under wraps. It is my earnest request to the owner of land to donate his property for the temple's construction which will be the most fruitful service he can do to God," she added. Earlier in the day, the apex court said the Ayodhya dispute was a "sensitive" and "sentimental" issue, adding it was best that this matter was settled amicably. The court asked parties concerned to sit together to arrive at a consensus and asked Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Subramanian Swamy to consult the parties and inform it about the decision on March 31. The court also suggested if required, a principal mediator could be chosen by the court for settling the issue. Chief Justice J.S. Khehar said if the parties wanted him to mediate then he was ready for the task. (ANI)
