Patna (Bihar) [India], October 21 (ANI): As the Bihar assembly elections come closer, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Manoj Kumar Jha on Tuesday emphasised the need for politics to focus on the welfare of citizens rather than divisive agendas.
The RJD leader highlighted that the entire Mahagathbandhan allience has been advocating for a return to politics that prioritises improving livelihoods, creating employment opportunities, strengthening social security, and building a robust healthcare framework.
In a post on X, Jha said, Tejashwi Yadav and the entire Mahagathbandhan have been continuously emphasising that politics should return to its original purpose, that is, improving people's lives, creating employment opportunities, strengthening social security, and building a better healthcare framework. They believe that the politics which does not address hunger, unemployment, and the aspirations of ordinary citizens is hollow."

Jha stressed that political discourse which fails to address hunger, unemployment, and the aspirations of ordinary citizens is meaningless. "Religious hatred and divisive politics must be met with a decisive and resounding 'no', because it diverts people's attention from real issues. Bihar's future lies not in communal slogans, but in policies of equal opportunities, dignity, and public welfare," he said.
He further underlined that Bihar's future lies in policies ensuring equal opportunities, dignity, and public welfare rather than communal slogans. "The message is clear -- politics based on justice, equality, and economic empowerment will be the true foundation of democracy and social harmony..Jai Hind," Jha added.
Meanwhile, targeting the Mahagathbandhan allience over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) ahead of Bihar polls, Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) National President Upendra Kushwaha accused the opposition of misleading the people and asserted that "power has already slipped from their hands".
The RLM national president accused Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav of having neglected Dalits and backward communities during his fifteen-year rule in Bihar.
Speaking to ANI in Patna on Monday, Kushwaha said "They made a big hue and cry over SIR. But what did they find? Is there even a discussion among the public today about what SIR is? These people were trying to create an issue among the public. The public already rejected them."
Taking a swipe at the RJD, Kushwaha alleged that Lalu Prasad Yadav's government failed to ensure political representation for Dalits and backward communities at the grassroots level. (ANI)
