New Delhi [India], May 29 (ANI): Delhi BJP President Virendraa Sachdeva said on Wednesday that it is regrettable to see Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal "splurging tax-payers money on his frivolous bail applications".
"Soon we will expose the quantum of tax-payer money Kejriwal has splurged on the team of his advocates. It is sad that Kejriwal aided by his Congress background advocates is trying to play on legal technicalities to exploit the opportunity for an extension of interim bail but is unlikely to succeed," Sachdeva said.
He further claimed that the people of the country are amazed to see Kejriwal campaigning in 49 degrees temperature while "shamefully claiming" to be suffering from dangerous diseases.
Earlier in the day, Union Minister Anurag Thakur said the Delhi Chief Minister can undertake a roadshow in the national capital's sweltering 47-degree temperature but is seeking bail on the pretext of ill health.
"He is exposed once again. It is visible to everyone that he can do a roadshow in 47-degree temperatures but asks for bail on the pretext of ill health," Thakur said.
The Supreme Court's Registry said on Wednesday that the apex court's previous order gave Kejriwal the liberty to move the trial court for regular bail.
The top court had on May 10 granted interim bail to the Delhi Chief Minister till June 1 to campaign for the Lok Sabha elections and asked him to surrender on June 2.
In the application seeking a one-time extension, Kejriwal has stated that he needs to undergo medical diagnostic tests, including a PET-CT Scan. The application stated that recent medical tests revealed elevated blood glucose and ketone levels, suggesting potential kidney-related complications and damage. (ANI)
