Ramjas college violence: Rijiju should not make irresponsible statements, says JD(U)
New Delhi [India] Feb. 27 (ANI): Castigating Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju over his remark that anyone who wants to break India and supports terrorists can be branded an 'anti-national', the Janata Dal (United) on Monday said that the former and his party did not fight for the nation's freedom and hence should not meddle in such issues. Asserting that Rijiju holds a dignified position, Yadav said that the MoS should not make such irresponsible remarks. "Those who have fought for the nation should worry about the country. Kiren Rijiju has no role here and I don't think he should be the one worrying so much. He is the Minister of State for Home Affairs, he should not make such irresponsible statements," Yadav told ANI. Amidst the ongoing row over the clashes between the Left-affiliated AISA and the RSS-backed ABVP in Delhi University's North Campus, Rijiju yesterday said that nobody has the absolute right to define nationalism but anyone who wants to break India and supports terrorists can be called an 'anti-national'. He also said under the guise of freedom of expression even some students fantasize about breaking India. "Nobody has the absolute right to define nationalism but anybody who wants to break India, supports Afzal Guru and terrorists is anti-national," he said in a tweet. (ANI)
