New Delhi, Aug. 17 (ANI): Extending his greetings on the eve of Raksha Bandhan, President Pranab Mukherjee on Wednesday called on the nation to ensure the safety of women at all times. "On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, I extend warm greetings and felicitations to all my fellow citizens," President Mukherjee said in a message. "May this unique festival inculcate in us the need to protect the women in our society and promote their welfare. Let us on this occasion resolve to ensure that the women and girls of our country feel safe and secure at all times," he added. He said the festival of Rakhi stands for the eternal bond of love and trust that brothers and sisters share. "May the Rakhi festival strengthen fraternal feelings and the spirit of oneness in our society as we strive collectively for the well-being of our people," he added.(ANI)
