New Delhi [India], Mar. 7 (ANI): Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday spoke to Director General of Police (DGP), Uttar Pradesh Javeed Ahmed and took stock of the ongoing operation in Lucknow, where two suspected terrorists, earlier in the day, were cornered in the thickly-populated Thakurganj area of Lucknow.

New Delhi [India], Mar. 7 (ANI): Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday spoke to Director General of Police (DGP), Uttar Pradesh Javeed Ahmed and took stock of the ongoing operation in Lucknow, where two suspected terrorists, earlier in the day, were cornered in the thickly-populated Thakurganj area of Lucknow. The operation is still underway. Earlier, the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) of the Uttar Pradesh Police, who earlier suspected the presence of just one person inside the house in the thickly-populated Thakurganj area of Lucknow, confirmed there were two youth holed up inside the building. "We initially thought that there is one youth inside, but there are two. They both are alive and have weapons. We are trying to arrest them as soon as possible," Additional Director General (ADG) of Police of Uttar Pradesh Daljeet Choudhary told ANI. The operation is still underway. ADG Choudhary had said they suspected the presence of just one inside the house. "We were informed that few suspects were lodged in Kanpur and Lucknow. The police and senior officials of the ATS went in the search. The suspect who was found in Kanpur has been arrested. The second suspect has holed himself up in a house in the Thakurganj area of Lucknow," Additional Director General (ADG) of Police of Uttar Pradesh Daljeet Choudhary had told ANI. The incident comes close on the heels of a blast on a Bhopal-Ujjain train in which at least eight people were injured. (ANI)
