Rajnath asks IPS probationers to end crisis of credibility
Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], Sept. 2 (ANI): Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday asked the IPS probationers to ensure that there is never a crisis of credibility in the eyes of the public while advising them to fulfill their responsibilities with utmost dedication and commitment. "As far as politics is concerned, I would say that after independence, there has been a crisis of credibility and this has been because of the difference in work and deeds," Singh said while speaking at the National Police Academy here, "Therefore, we must take this crisis of credibility as a challenge and ensure that it ends. Similarly, I would say in the context of police officers also, as your activities are in public domain and so you must ensure that there is never ever a crisis of credibility in the eyes of the public and accept this as a challenge in our service life," he added. Singh said that politicians and police officers are on the same pedestal as the people keep a close watch on the two. "I think because the activities of both politicians and police officers are in public domain and the people keep a close watch. Even if fingers are raised then either it is directed towards a politician or on a police officer. Therefore, I find them on the same pedestal," he added. Expressing his delight over the IPS probationers from Bhutan, Nepal and Maldives receiving their training at the Police Academy here, Singh said that this would further strengthen India's relations with the three nations. "India has very friendly relations with these three nations, but I am confident that our ties will strengthen further post this training," he added. Talking about the National Police Academy, he said, "Everybody is aware that this police academy has world-class infrastructure and whosoever receives training here leaves the academy with a professionally sound background." "I am confident that you will fulfill high standards of professional excellence, integrity and honesty while performing your duties," he added. (ANI)
