Rajasthan: Ten peacocks found dead in Mandalgarh

"There is a double-engine government in the state, a government that claims to protect Hindu interests, and the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh moves around in a vehicle adorned with a peacock feather. Yet, cow slaughter is taking place in the state capital Bhopal. The municipal corporation personnel are also involved in it," Congress spokesperson Amit Sharma said.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was seen feeding a peacock during a 'gauseva' event at the Gorakhnath Temple premises in Gorakhpur on Thursday.

"On the auspicious occasion of Govardhan Puja, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav caressed and offered food to the cattle located inside the Chief Minister's residence in Bhopal. During this, he adorned the cows with peacock feathers and bells around their neck. Chief Minister Yadav also performed Govardhan Puja according to the tradition at CM House and prayed for the happiness, prosperity, and well-being of the state," the CMO stated in a post on X.

In line with the "Waste to Beauty" vision, a magnificent sculpture of the National Bird, the Peacock and Barasingha, is being installed, creatively crafted from iron scrap generated during mining operations. The artwork symbolises NCL's commitment to environmental stewardship and innovation.

The Delhi High Court on Wednesday dismissed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking protection for India's National Bird, the peacock, from electrocution due to open electric wires and poles.
