Rajasthan polls: Party has shown faith in me, says Cong MLA Pramod Jain Bhaya on getting ticket again

Pramod Jain Bhaya has fought three times from the Anta constituency since 2018.

Baran (Rajasthan) [India], October 23 (ANI): After the Congress party released its second list of candidates for the Rajasthan assembly polls fielding its sitting MLA, Pramod Jain Bhaya, from the Anta constituency, he said that the party command has shown faith in him.
Bhaya is deemed to be a "close associate" of Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. He is also the Cabinet Minister of Mines and Petroleum in the third Ashok Gehlot ministry.
"The party high command has shown faith in me and has fielded me for the fourth time from the Anta constituency. Definitely, a public representative is accountable for the social work, and development of their constituencies. Whenever the public blessed me, I tried to strengthen my capabilities", said Pramod Jain Bhaya, Congress's MLA from Anta, while speaking to ANI.
"I have performed historical work on issues related to the common public. The public has blessed me and the Chief Minister has respected their emotions. Whatever I have done is before the public", Bhaya added.
Anta, which falls in the Baran district of Rajasthan, is one of the 200 legislative assembly constituencies of the state.
In the 2018 state assembly polls, Congress's Pramod Jain Bhaya defeated Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Prabhu Lal Saini.
Bhaya had secured 97,160 votes having a note percentage of 589 while BJP's Saini had secured 63,097 with a vote percentage of 37.73.
Pramod Jain Bhaya has fought three times from the Anta constituency since 2018.
He had lost to Prabhu Lal Saini in 2013.
Congress on Sunday released its second list of 43 candidates for the Rajasthan Assembly elections, naming state ministers Pratap Singh Khachariyawas, and Govind Ram Meghwal.
The ruling party has fielded Govind Ram Meghwal from Khajuwala, Pratap Singh Khachariyawas from Civil Lines and Parsadi Lal Meena from Lolsot.
Besides, Congress has fielded Former Chief Secretary of Rajasthan Niranjan Arya from the Sojat constituency. He is considered a close associate of Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.
In the 2018 assembly elections, the Congress won 99 seats while the BJP won 73 seats in the 200-member house. Ashok Gehlot came to power with the support of BSP MLAs and independents.
Earlier on Saturday, the Congress released its first list of 33 candidates for Rajasthan Assembly elections, naming Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot, state party chief Govind Singh Dotasra and Speaker CP Joshi.
The party chose to renominate sitting MLAs in 29 seats while four others were chosen to fight constituencies where the BJP has sitting MLAs. The Congress' first list came soon after BJP released its second list of 88 candidates, taking its total to 124 out of 200 candidates.
The polls for the 200-member assembly will be held on November 25.
The counting of votes will take place on December 3. Of the five states, polling in Chhattisgarh will be held in two phases. (ANI)
