Rajasthan HC bans two former MPs from staying in govt. accommodation
Jodhpur (Rajasthan) [India], Mar. 24 (ANI): The Rajasthan High Court on Friday banned former Alwar MP Bhanwar Jitendra Singh and former Jaipur MP Mahesh Joshi from staying in any government accommodation or guest houses. Earlier in February, steps were initiated to attach the properties of the two MPs of the Congress Party to recover outstanding dues of their stay at Rajasthan House in Delhi between 2004 and 2014. This came after a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) was filed by K. B Agarwal against the MPs. The petitioner had said that 26 MPs and MLAs from Rajasthan had not paid their dues of their stay at Rajasthan House in Delhi between 2004 and 2014. After the court's intervention, 22 of the former ministers of Rajasthan cleared their accounts, with four others defaulting. According to the petition, an outstanding amount of Rs. 45, 82,593 is due from former Union minister Bhanwar Jitendra Singh and Mahesh Joshi had to pay Rs. 27, 41,223. (ANI)
