Rajasthan by-polls: "There will be huge voting, BJP will win", says BJP Khinwsar candidate Rewant Ram Danga

Nagaur (Rajasthan) [India], November 13 (ANI): As polling for by-elections in Rajasthan is underway, the Bharatiya Janata Party candidate from Khinwsar seat, Rewant Ram Danga on Wednesday requested the people to vote and make his party win.
Speaking to ANI, Danga exuded confidence about his victory from the seat.
"I request the public to vote openly this time and make BJP win from Khinwsar...There is enthusiasm among the people, there will be huge voting and BJP will win," he said.
BJP candidate Rewant Ram Danga is in the electoral fray against Congress' Ratan Choudhary and Rashtriya Loktantrik Party's (RLP) Kanika Beniwal.
The seat previously held by RLD Chief Hanuman Beniwal fell vacant after he was elected to the Lok Sabha from Nagaur.
Congress MP from Dausa, Murari Lal Meena also cast his vote in by-polls.
He said, "The trend is in favour of Congress, we will win. We have worked for the people during our tenure... People are unhappy with this 11-month tenure of BJP."
Notably, Congress has fielded Deendayal Bairwa from the Dausa assembly seat while the BJP candidate is Jagmohan Meena.
The by-polls in Rajasthan on seven seats including Jhunjhunu, Dausa, Deoli-Uniara, Khinwsar, Chorasi, Salumbar and Ramgarh are underway with results to be declared on November 20. The by-polls on these seven seats were necessitated after two MLAs died and five others were elected to the Lok Sabha.
Notably, of these seven seats, five were held by the Congress and its allies (Bharat Adivasi Party-one), while the BJP and Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) held one each.
The BJP has 114 MLAs in the 200-member Rajasthan Assembly, the Congress has 65, the Bharat Adivasi Party three, the Bahujan Samaj Party two, one Rashtriya Lok Dal and eight independents.
Meanwhile, the assembly seats where by-polls are being held on Wednesday include seven in Rajasthan, six in West Bengal, and five in Assam among others. Bypolls will be held for West Bengal's six assembly seats: Naihati, Haroa, Medinipur, Taldangra, Sitai, and Madarihat. In Assam, polling will be held for the Samaguri, Behali, Bongaigaon, Sidli, and Dholai seats.
Voting for the first phase of Jharkhand Assembly polls is also underway. (ANI)
