Rahul's 'peeping in bathroom' comment reflects his own habit: BJP
New Delhi[India],Feb.11(ANI):The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday lashed out at Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi for taking Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'raincoat remark' on former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh literally, accusing the Prime Minister of possessing a voyeuristic habit of 'peeping into people's bathroom'. "It's a strange comment. Perhaps Rahul Gandhi has this habit. That's why he thinks that every other person looks into other people's bathroom. What did the Prime Minister say? Only, that there was a rain of scams day in and day out. The courts were dealing with it, the media was writing about it. Yet, Dr. Manmohan Singh registered no single blot, therefore the act is akin to wearing are raincoat in heavy downpour and coming out dry. Any sensible person can easily understand that it is an idiom, it's used in a particular context," BJP leader Nalin Kohli told ANI. Slamming Gandhi for taking the quote literally, Kohli accused the former of possessing the same habit. "If Rahul Gandhi sees this as looking into a real toilet, then perhaps he is used to these kinds of habits and believes everybody else does the same." he added. In a joint press conference with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav in Lucknow earlier in the day, Gandhi said, "The Prime Minister only enjoys sitting in front of Google and peeping into other people's bathroom". Gandhi made the comment reacting to Prime Minister Modi's earlier accusation on former prime minister Manmohan Singh's 'skill of bathing in raincoat'. Prime Minister Modi earlier on Wednesday trained his guns on his predecessor Dr. Manmohan Singh in Rajya Sabha. "Dr. Manhmohan has played a significant role in the economic system of India. But during the most corrupt regime in the nation, there was not a single corruption charge against him. This art of taking a bath wearing a raincoat must be learnt from Dr. Manmohan Singh," the Prime Minister said, setting off cries of shame by the Congress and a walkout. (ANI)
