Hubballi (Karnataka) [India], May 3 (ANI): Union Minister Pralhad Joshi said on Friday that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is poised to lose the elections from the Raebareli Lok Sabha seat, adding that the Wayanad MP will never forget this defeat in his entire life.
"He (Rahul Gandhi) will be defeated, and he will never forget that defeat in his life," Pralhad Joshi told reporters.
Rahul is pitted against the BJP's Dinesh Pratap Singh in Raebareli. He currently represents Wayanad in the Lok Sabha, while Smriti Irani is bidding for a fresh term from Amethi.
Congress has fielded KL Sharma to contest from the Amethi Lok Sabha constituency.
On Rahul Gandhi's remark regarding PM Modi and JD(S) leader Prajwal Revanna, Pralhad Joshi slammed Congress, saying, "You (Congress) people made his father a minister, him the MP. You got the clipping but so far you haven't filed the FIR, which was lodged now. People don't forget the sin committed by the Congress party. You made Chief Minister from that party."
Earlier, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for endorsing JD(S) candidate Prajwal Revanna, who is now accused in an alleged sexual harassment case.
"The biggest issue here is the Revanna case, the person who has allegedly raped 400 women and was endorsed by PM Modi. First, Prime Minister Narendra Modi should answer and apologize to the women," said Rahul Gandhi during a public meeting in Shivamogga.
Meanwhile, another FIR was filed against JD(S) leader Prajwal Revanna in connection with the 'obscene video' case at CID Police. Cases are registered under IPC sections 376(2)(N), 506, 354A(1), 354(B), 354(c), 506, and also under IT ACT.
Revanna was already booked in an alleged sexual harassment case on April 28 following complaints by his former housekeeper. The case was registered under sections 354A, 354D, 506, and 509 of the IPC on charges of sexual harassment, intimidation, and outraging the dignity of a woman. (ANI)
