Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], September 1 (ANI): Ahead of the assembly election in Chhattisgarh scheduled later this year, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will be addressing youth in the state capital Raipur on Saturday, an official statement from CMO said.
The Wayanad MP will be addressing youth during a programme 'Rajiv Yuva Mitan Samellan' which will be hosted by the Chhattisgarh Government.
The move is being considered as an act to win the trust of 4.43 lakh new voters of Chhattisgarh.
To take stock of ongoing preparedness, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Friday evening along with the party state president Deepak Baij and others visited the venue and gave specific directives to the officials.
Ahead of Rahul Gandhi's visit, Congress today released a series of allegations accusing the previous BJP government in the state of being indulged in numerous corruptions, including alleged Civil Supplies Corporation (CSC) scam, DKS scam and others. Besides, Congress leaders also accused the government at the centre of favouring Adani.
Notably, Rahul Gandhi is continuously targeting the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government at the centre over issues related to China allegedly encroaching on Indian land, allocation of mines to Adani, and funding of money in shell companies of Adani, Manipur and others.
Rahul Gandhi on Friday alleged that the Ladakh locals informed him that the Chinese have taken over the Indian land accusing the Central government of "betraying" the people of Ladakh.
"I spent a week in Ladakh. I went to Pangong Lake right in front of where the Chinese are. I had detailed discussions, probably the most detailed discussions that any politician outside Ladakh has had with the people of Ladakh," Rahul Gandhi said.
He also launched an attack on PM Modi-led government over allegations concerning the Adani group and accused the PM and BJP of being a nexus of corruption and demanded a probe into the Adani matter.
"The nexus between the PM and one businessman is for every person to see. I mentioned in my press conference yesterday that the G20 is coming and India's credibility, our nation's credibility that the Prime Minister makes his position clear and begin an enquiry on what is happened with regards to Mr Adani," Rahul said.
"The Prime Minister and the BJP are a nexus of corruption and that is the first thing that the INDIA alliance is going to demonstrate and prove. The idea behind Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government is to extract money from the poor people of this country and transfer it to a limited few. So, we are going to propose a clear path to development," he added. (ANI)
