Guwahati (Assam) [India], September 10 (ANI): Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and accused him of promoting nepotism and working towards dividing the nation.
"Their first scam was started with the title of Gandhi. They did only Parivarvad and worked on breaking the country. I request Rahul Gandhi to give away the Gandhi title,” Himanta Biswa Sarma said during the National Executive Meeting of BJP Mahila Morcha at the Assam BJP Headquarters in Guwahati
"Kamakhya corridor will come into reality in the next two years. Only because of PM Modi, the Delhi Declaration happen following the Ukraine and Russia war. All leaders gathered at Rajghat today. Congress didn't celebrate 25 years, 50 years of independence of the country. But, Modi ji celebrated 75 years of independence and everyone feels that we are ‘Bharatiya’. The great reformer Mahapurusha Sankaradeva wrote about Bharat Bhumi 500 years ago. This is our Bharat Bhumi," Himanta Biswa Sarma said.
He also said that PM Modi is working on to make Bharat as Vishwaguru.
"When yesterday I saw Modi ji while he talked with global leaders I think that Bharat has now become Vishwaguru,” Sarma added.
The Assam CM stressed the importance of women's empowerment and called for an end to practices like polygamy and instant divorce (talaq) in the Muslim community. He highlighted PM Modi's focus on women's empowerment and mentioned recent efforts to combat child marriage in Assam.
“PM Modi gives more concentration on Nari Shakti women empowerment. A few days ago we launched an operation against Child Marriage. Marriage at 9 years and giving birth to child at 12 years is most common in a particular community in Assam. No Hindus endorse casteism, but one Tamil Nadu minister (Udhyanidhi Stalin) talked against Hindus. But I want to say polygamy and talaq should be ended in Muslims,” Himanta Biswa Sarma said.
He also said that 2000-3000 more people will be arrested and we will launch another massive operation against Child Marriage in the next 10 days.
"Mahila Morcha should launch a campaign against child marriage and polygamy across the country. We will bring an act against polygamy in December. The nation now again needs Modi ji. We will have to make Modi ji PM for 10 years," Himanta Biswa Sarma added. (ANI)
