Patna (Bihar) [India], November 16 (ANI): After Congress' dismal performance in the Bihar Assembly elections, Hindustan Awam Morcha (Secular) leader Santosh Suman said that there are flaws in Congress leadership and called Rahul Gandhi a "politically immature" leader.
Reacting to Prime Minister Modi's remarks that "NDA has more MLAs in Bihar than Congress in five or six states combined," Suman said that PM Modi has said nothing wrong.
"What wrong did the PM say? There are flaws in the Congress leadership. Rahul Gandhi has no political understanding. He is politically immature...He acts weird and it seems as if he is not a politician but an entertainer...Public doesn't take him seriously. If Congress has to revive, they should get rid of such leaders and have a mature leader," Suman told ANI.
Earlier on Saturday, Prime Minister Modi said, "The state elections that followed the Lok Sabha elections, in all those, Congress was in a dire state. We won more MLAs in Bihar yesterday than the Congress won in these five or six states combined."
Meanwhile, speaking on the oath ceremony of the new government in Bihar, the HAM(S) leader said that all the process will be completed by November 20-21.
"This is a Constitutional tradition that a final list is given to the Governor. Perhaps that will be done today. The meeting can be held tomorrow...This will certainly be done before 22nd November. There are no ifs and buts there. If the CM resigns tomorrow and goes to the Governor, the process for formation of a new Govt will begin. A legislative party meeting will be held, a leader will be elected and there will be CM...I think perhaps it will happen by 20-21. It is a speculation, this is not the exact date but it will happen around these dates," Suman stated.
Asked about his party's ambition in the upcoming cabinet, the HAM(S) leader Santosh said, "We are not demanding any ministerial berth. We have no demands. We don't get into all this. We will sit together. Nothing has been discussed on this matter so far."
The NDA's 'tsunami' swept away the opposition RJD-led Mahagathbandhan in Bihar, as they won 202 seats out of 243.
BJP emerged as the single-largest party with 89 seats, and the Janata Dal (United) finished a close second with 85. The other allies of the ruling coalition also registered high strike rates as Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) (LJPRV) won 19, Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) (HAMS) won five, and Rashtriya Lok Morcha won four seats.
Facing major setbacks, Mahagathbandhan got just 35 seats with Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) winning 25 seats, Congress 6, Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) (Liberation) - CPI(ML)(L) - two, Indian Inclusive Party (IIP) - one and Communist Party of India (Marxist) - CPI(M) one seat.
While All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) won five seats, and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) got one seat. (ANI)
