Rahul Gandhi frustrated as he lost black money post demonetisation: BJP
New Delhi [India], Dec. 20 (ANI): Reacting to Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi's remark that demonetisation helped "50 families" gain 60 percent of India's wealth, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said the Gandhi family is among those who became billionaires under the UPA regime and are now frustrated as they had lost their corrupt money post demonetisation. "Frustration of Rahul Gandhi was quite evident. The question that he raised was about 50 families and commission from across the India going to the pockets of 50 families. My question to Rahul Gandhi is these 50 families did not became billionaires over night or in the last two-and-a-half years they became billionaires on your period, you have to answer the question," BJP leader Sambit Patra told ANI. "The bigger question is whether "the political family' (Gandhi family) which finds mention in the Agusta Westaland scam is part of the 50 families or not. And secondly, from the jeep scam to the chopper scam, money of commission of corruption went to the pockets of a single family and we all know which family it is. Naturally, when this corrupt money has reduced its value because of demonetisation the frustration of the Congress vice president is quite evident," he added. Addressing a rally in Uttar Pradesh's Jaunpur district yesterday, Rahul Gandhi said, "Demonetisation was not a fight against the corrupt. It was a fight against the poor, the farmer, the under-privileged. Prime Minister Modi gave 60 per cent of India's wealth to one per cent of India's population. A handful of families hold majority of this 60 percent wealth, around 50 families." Gandhi further said the Prime Minister has a list of Swiss bank accounts and knows who the corrupt people are, but has done nothing about it. (ANI)
