Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], October 20 (ANI): Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Mahila Morcha president Geetha Murthy on Friday slammed Congress MP Rahul Gandhi saying that he does not know anything about the state.
Speaking on Rahul Gandhi's comment that the electoral battle in the state is only between Congress and the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), Geetha Murthy said, "They are thinking Congress has become big and strong in Telangana."
She further alleged that Congress and BRS have an understanding "behind the screen" in the state.
"They are friends behind the screen. They are working together and have an understanding. Rahul is talking according to the given script," she added.
She also expressed confidence saying that BJP have good workers who are willing to do anything for the party.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi who is undertaking 'Vijayabheri Yatra' in the run-up to the Assembly elections in the state, on Friday asserted that the election is between BRS and Congress adding that voting for BJP and AIMIM will be wasted.
He further asserted that the Congress party's struggle is not a mere political contest but is centred around ideology and a "fight of DNA" that is rooted in fundamental principles.
Rahul Gandhi is campaigning in Telangana for a third day. Voting in Telangana for the 119 seats is scheduled to be held on November 30.
Telangana is set to witness an intriguing multi-polar contest between the BRS, Congress and the BJP.
In the previous Assembly elections in 2018, the BRS won 88 of the 119 seats, hogging 47.4 per cent of the total vote share. The Congress finished a distant second with 19 seats and a vote share of 28.7 per cent. (ANI)
