He presided over his first DISHA Committee meeting in Raebareli, where he discussed local issues and developmental progress with officials and public representatives. Earlier in the day, he inaugurated the newly constructed Shaheed Chowk and Degree College Chauraha in Raebareli.
In his Instagram post, Rahul Gandhi noted that Raebareli has honoured him by making him its voice, affirming his commitment to addressing the people's needs, fostering prosperity, and resolving issues.
Following the meeting, BJP MLA from Raebareli, Aditi Singh, described it as "very positive," highlighting that discussions were centred on development, despite minor disagreements on some issues.
"It was a very positive meeting. There were a few issues on which we had slight differences. This is an administrative meeting, chaired by the MP... so most discussions focused on development," said BJP MLA Aditi Singh.
Notably, DISHA Committee meetings are held quarterly under the chairmanship of the MP.
During his visit, the Congress MP also offered prayers at Shri Peepaleshwar Mahadevji Mandir and Hanuman Mandir, underscoring his commitment to the people of Raebareli.
Rahul Gandhi is currently serving as a Member of Parliament (MP) for Rae Bareli, Uttar Pradesh, having won the Rae Bareli Lok Sabha seat in the 2024 elections by a margin of 390,030 votes. (ANI)
