"Off-track" Samajwadi cycle can't think beyond own family feud: BJP
New Delhi/Lucknow [India], Jan. 9 (ANI): Commenting on the ongoing power tussle in the Samajwadi Party, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday said that the Yadav clam-led party was now incapable to thinking beyond its prolonged family feud, while asserting that that the people of Uttar Pradesh are feeling cheated with the current development as progress in the state is being hampered. BJP leader Siddharth Nath Singh said that the drama in the Uttar Pradesh's Yadav family had started to take affect Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav's performance, which then turned into an internal fight in the family, resulting in complete chaos within the party. "The cycle is off-track as they don't think beyond their own family feud or who is going to keep the cycle symbol. The Uttar Pradesh people are feeling cheated but at the same time they should start thinking back on development, which is the agenda that BJP aligns with. Because it (BJP) believes that what the state needs after 14 years is nothing but development," Singh told ANI. Echoing similar sentiment, BJP leader Rita Bahuguna Joshi said that the clash in Samajwadi Party is just for power and that the latter was fully aware of the fact that they will not form the government again in the upcoming assembly elections. "This is a fight of power, in which Mulayam Singh is being cornered. Now this has become a legal matter which will be solved by the Election Commission. But one thing is clear, the party is neither concerned about the state nor about the issue of common people," she said. According to sources, Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav will today urge the Election Commission to check the authenticity and legality of papers submitted by Ramgopal Yadav. The Akhilesh Yadav camp on Saturday submitted affidavits signed by party legislators and office bearers to the Election Commission, in a bid to buttress its claim over the Samajwadi Party's 'cycle' symbol ahead of Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls. Ramgopal said that the relevant documents, brought in "seven cartons with more than 1.5 lakh pages", were submitted to the poll panel to assert Akhilesh's right over the party name and symbol. He said that he submitted affidavits of 4,716 delegates of the total 5,731, indicating overwhelming support for Akhilesh. The Election Commission had given both sides time till January 9 to submit proof of their legislative support. (ANI)
