"Insensitive PM Modi indulging in emotional drama": Cong
New Delhi [India], Nov. 13 (ANI): Dubbing Narendra Modi's assertion that he left behind his family and home for the nation as an 'emotional drama', the Congress Party on Sunday said the insensitive Prime Minister must maintain the dignity of his post rather than indulging in such rhetoric. "Is he the first person to sacrifice for the country? Many people have sacrificed a lot for the freedom of the country who left behind their homes, were imprisoned even awarded death. What does he want to say?" asked Congress leader Anand Sharma. He added that the Prime Minister should stop the drama and take note of the prevailing situation in the country. Escalating his attack on the Prime Minister, Sharma told ANI, "All those people in line are the daily wage earners, construction labourers, the common people and Modi ji is saying that all these crores of common people in the queue are black money holders. That is why I said he should at least maintain some dignity of his post." He also warned the people not to pay heed to Prime Minister Modi's "emotional drama". "He does it on purpose. First they do wrong things and then they garner sympathy from the people. He (Prime Minister Modi) is an insensitive person, who does not have any emotion for the poor. If they would have, such situation would not have been there," he said. He said that the government is doing this as it has completed half its tenure and is answerable to the people about all the promises it made. "The government has completed two and a half years and it was time for them to give answers that where the promised 5 crore jobs are and other promises they made to the people," said Sharma. He argued that Finance Minister Arun Jaitley himself informed the Parliament in August that only 0.02 percent of the money circulating in the Indian economy is counterfeit money. Speaking for the first time on demonetisation after announcing the decision on November 8, Prime Minister Modi earlier in the day said that the nation has elected him to fight corruption and questioned if he should not do it. He also used the occasion to hit back at those questioning his bold and effective step to combat corruption and menace of black money. (ANI)
