Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], Mar 7 (ANI): Senior Congress leader BK Hariprasad on Thursday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of 'match-fixing' with Pakistan over the deadly Pulwama terror attack on February 14.
"Without the knowledge of the Prime Minister and Pakistan, Pulwama incident would not have taken place. It is a total failure of Modi government that such an incident took place," said Hariprasad while seeking a clarification from Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad whether there was any match-fixing between Pakistan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
"If you look at the chain of events that have taken place after Pulwama, it appears that Narendra Modi had a match-fixing with people of Pakistan," the Congress added.
Stressing on the breach of security in Jammu and Kashmir during the Pulwama attack orchestrated by Pakistan-based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed, Prasad said: "The governor of Jammu and Kashmir has openly admitted that Pulwama attack was a total failure of the intelligence. The government can detect beef in the truck but not RDX in a car on the national highway. During their rule, there was an attack in Gurdaspur, Pathankot air base and Uri. The entire Opposition stood with the government but the Modi government couldn’t do anything. And now, they are playing politics on the dead bodies of soldiers."
"If they can't protect Rafale file then how do you expect them to defend this country," Hariprasad stated.
Responding to it, Ravi Shankar Prasad said: "BK Hariprasad has crossed all limits of decency and goodwill in the country. What does he mean by this? Is he equating India as a terror hub with Pakistan? Does he understand the consequences of his comments? It is shameful and deeply reprehensible.”
“Everyday Congress is justifying such comments by repeatedly seeking to weaken the morale of our security forces and insulting the sacrifices of brave hearts who have lost their lives in wake of this attack,” he added.
Continuing a tirade against Congress, the Union Minister said: “Hariprasad’s remarks represent the lowest as far as political probity and propriety is concerned. I will not seek any apology from the Congress party. Congress party has lost all sympathy and perhaps closed its future. People of India will give a befitting reply to the Congress for insulting great emotional connect for a cause of mother India”.
Ravi Shankar further slammed Congress president Rahul Gandhi and said, “The comments of Congress leader are promoted and directed under Rahul Gandhi. The entire country is watching it. By these comments, they have insulted forces of India and shahadat (martyrdom) of 40 CRPF soldiers and profound sentiments of the citizens of this country. One could never expect that the Congress which ruled this country for 50 years would stoop to such levels and play political games. The entire world is with India and its fight against terrorism. Today, Pakistan stands isolated.” (ANI)
