"Public will elect me...": JMM candidate from Ranchi, Mahua Maji expresses confidence of victory in Jharkhand polls

Ranchi (Jharkhand) [India], October 24 (ANI): Jharkhand Mukti Morcha Rajya Sabha MP and JMM candidate from Ranchi, Mahua Maji, expressed confidence that people would elect her in the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly Elections.
Speaking to ANI, Mahua Maji said, "I try to be with people during their good and difficult times. I try to solve their problems. The people and party has expressed confidence in me. I am confident that the public will elect me and I will work for them. The public representative should listen to the public. We have to solve the problems of the people."
Mahua Maji is contesting the Ranchi seat against BJP's CP Singh who is the incumbent MLA.
"The public representative should listen to the public. Ranchi is the capital of Jharkhand. You know the condition of the capital city. Our CM Hemant Soren prepared a flyover for the city in record time. He has said that the state government will prepare 12 flyovers. He has given respite to people from traffic congestion in many areas. We have to solve the daily problems of the people," she said.
She further said that she was born and brought up in this city. "I have a passion to take this city forward. I will contribute and support the CM in making the lives of people better here," she added.
JMM has released its first list of 35 candidates for the upcoming assembly polls in the state which are to be held in two phases on November 13 and 20.
As per the list, Chief Minister Hemant Soren will contest from the Barhait Assembly constituency while his wife Kalpana Soren will contest from the Gandey seat.
Other candidates include MT Raja from Rajmahal seat, Dhananjay Soren from Boriyo, Basant Soren from Dumka, Hafizul Hasan from Madhupur, Bebi Devi from Damuri, Baidhnath Ram from Latehar and Kedar Hazra from Jamua seat.
Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren, accompanied by Jharkhand Congress in-charge Ghulam Ahmad Mir announced that the JMM and the Congress would share 70 seats between them, and the RJD and Left parties would split the remaining 11.
Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced its first list of 66 candidates for the Jharkhand Assembly elections on Saturday.
The party's state chief, Babulal Marandi, will contest from Dhanwar, Lobin Hembrom from Borio, and Sita Soren from Jamtara. Former Chief Minister of Jharkhand Champai Soren has been nominated as the candidate from Saraikella, Geeta Balmuchu from Chaibasa, Geeta Koda from Jaganathpur, and Meera Munda, the wife of Union Minister Arjun Munda will contest from Potka.
The Assembly elections in Jharkhand will be held in two phases on November 13 and November 20 and votes will be counted on November 23. (ANI)
