Process of reversing Delhi govt's orders unfortunate, will affect people: Kejriwal
New Delhi [India], Oct. 8 (ANI): Terming the process of declaring the decisions taken by the Delhi Government in its one and a half years' tenure null and void "unfortunate", Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday said one could understand its ramification that how much problem the Delhi Government and the people of Delhi could face. Addressing a press conference here, Kejriwal said, "Before the August 4 order of the Delhi High Court, the way the government was functioning, we believed that on some matters we don't need any approval from L-G shaab (Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung), but he believed that it is required." "There were many files on which the approval of LG shaab was not taken, but there was no wrong intention behind it. It was a technical matter, which was in the court. It has been interpreted that those files should have been sent to LG shaab, but only because the files were not sent to LG shaab, if the decisions taken by the Delhi Government in the past one and a half years were declared null and void, you can understand its ramification that how much problem the Delhi Government and the people of Delhi can face and that process is going on right now which is very unfortunate," Kejriwal added. Jung on Friday referred the matter related to Delhi Waqf Board to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for investigation and declared the reconstitution of Delhi Waqf Board and appointment of CEO as "illegal and void ab initio". The Delhi Waqf Board is superseded under Section 99 of the Act. Till the expiry of its term, the Secretary of Revenue will exercise all powers and duties of the Board. S.M. Ali, Special Secretary of Delhi Environment and Forest, has been given the additional charge of CEO of Delhi Waqf Board. The Divisional Commissioner has been asked to constitute a Committee to review the legality and propriety of all decisions and actions taken by the Board after its constitution in March this year and submit a report within a month.
