New Delhi [India], March 19 (ANI): Asserting that Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's boat journey over Ganga is bereft of meaning, aim and spirituality, former Union minister of Water Resources and Ganga Rejuvenation Uma Bharti on Tuesday asked people not to pay much heed to it.
"Do not mix your EQ (Emotional Quotient), SQ (Spiritual Quotient) and IQ (Intelligence Quotient). Just use your IQ and you will realise that this boat journey of Mrs Vadra is meaningless, aimless and lacks spirituality because the country gave the whole family about 60 years to work," said Bharti in a statement.
Alleging that so far Congress leaders have not remembered issues related to Ganga, Ram, Hanuman and the poor, Bharti added, "We should understand the real purpose of this campaign. We have raised these issues and have strengthened these subjects for the country's politics. For us, this issue is of faith and not of votes. We have lived our lives on the basis of our faith and patriotism, but for them, these are very light issues. Now Madam Vadra will comment on these issues in her style and then seek vote on it."
She also alleged her of running the Manmohan Singh government from behind the curtains and said, "Brought up in palaces by maids, they never had any dearth of anything for eating or commuting. She conveniently raised and educated her kids after marriage, enjoyed running the government from behind the curtain for 10 years but didn't once remember these issues then."
"Today the country is facing serious challenges and at the same time jumping to newer heights. In such a time we should concentrate on Prime Minister (Narendra) Modi and BJP, and should not even waste time by watching such voyages even on TV," she stated.
Uma Bharti has already announced that she won't be contesting the upcoming Lok Sabha elections but would fulfil any other responsibility that is bestowed upon her by the party. (ANI)
