Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], January 1 (ANI): Rajasthan Minister Jawahar Singh Bedam said on Monday that the main priority of the newly elected Bhajanlal Sharma-led Bharatiya Janata Party government would be to ensure a "crime-free" state.
Speaking to ANI, the minister said, "With the mantra of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas', we will make Rajasthan the number one state in development. The main priority of our government is to ensure a crime-free Rajasthan."
"Potable (safe drinking) water should reach out to people," he added.
Taking a dig at the previous Congress government in the state, the BJP leader said," The major issues that were politicised during the Congress rule should be resolved and their benefits should reach out to people," he added.
Meanwhile, Rajasthan Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore on Monday assumed charge as cabinet minister at the state secretariat in Jaipur and said that the coming five years are very important for the state.
"It is the responsibility of the officers, employees and all of us to serve the people of Rajasthan. The Constitution also says that whatever responsibility you have, fulfil it properly... These five years are very important for Rajasthan," Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore told reporters on Monday.
Meanwhile, Rajasthan Minister Jogaram Patel also took charge as a cabinet minister at the Secretariat in Jaipur.
The swearing-in ceremony of the Rajasthan state cabinet took place on Saturday at the Raj Bhavan in Jaipur, in which 22 ministers were inducted.
Earlier, on December 15, Bhajanlal Sharma took the oath as Rajasthan Chief Minister. Diya Kumari and Prem Chand Bairwa were sworn in as Deputy Chief Ministers.
The BJP won 115 seats in the assembly polls and the Congress came in a distant second with 69 seats. Rajasthan went to the polls for 199 of the 200 assembly seats on November 25. (ANI)
