New Delhi [India], May 26 (ANI): Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit on Sunday condemned Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Mujra' remark and said that the Prime Minister is not only a leader of the party but also the face of the nation.
"This shows disappointment. Usage of such words, I have never heard such words in my political career. The Prime Minister is not only a leader of his party but also the face of the nation. I condemn this. I hope no one after this uses such kind of language," Sandeep Dixit told ANI.
PM Modi on Saturday attacked the INDIA bloc in Bihar over the reservations issue and accused it of doing "slavery" and "mujra" for the Muslim vote bank.
"I am giving the guarantee to Bihar, SC, ST, OBC communities, till Modi is alive, I will not let them snatch away their rights. For Modi, the Constitution is supreme, for Modi, Babasaheb Ambedkar's sentiments are supreme... if the INDI alliance wants to accept the servitude of their vote bank, they are free to do so...if they want to perform mujra (dance), they are free to do... I will still stand with the SC, ST, and OBC reservations staunchly. Jb tak jaan hai ladta rahunga," PM Modi said.
Meanwhile, Sandeep Dikshit on the Agnipath Scheme said that the Central government brought the Scheme in a hurry.
"Many retired military personnel and defence experts have questioned the Agniveer scheme since it was launched. The opposition is asking the question as well. When you take such a big step concerning the defence and security of the nation, it's obvious that you should talk to the opposition, and discuss with other people. You (the government) brought this scheme in a hurry and hence many see faults in it," he said.
Accusing Congress MP Rahul Gandhi of spreading "falsehood" regarding the Agnipath scheme, Union Home Minister Amit Shah alleged that a "misconception" is being spread about the scheme and said that the politics of the country changed after Wayanad MP entered politics.
"The politics of this country has changed after Rahul Gandhi came into politics. Earlier, political parties used to twist actual issues in front of the people, but they never made falsehood an issue. Rahul Gandhi has started a new tradition that only a false thing should be made an issue. The biggest example of this is the Agniveer scheme. A misconception is being spread all over the country that after 4 years, 75 per cent of Agniveers will not have a future and their life will be ruined and wasted. The scheme is that if 100 people become Agniveer, 25 per cent of them would be permanently posted in the Army. For the remaining 75 per cent, BJP rules states have made a 10-20 per cent per cent reservation in their state police force. 10 per cent reservation has been given in the central government's paramilitary force also," the Union Home Minister said addressing a press conference on Saturday.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and the other opposition parties are continuously attacking the Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre over the Aginveer scheme.
The Agnipath scheme is the short-term defence recruitment model unveiled by the Centre in June 2022. (ANI)
