"Prime Minister-certified good governance?": Tejashwi Yadav counters BJP's 'Jungle Raj' jibe after Rohtas firing incident in Bihar

Yadav's remarks were aimed at countering the BJP leaders' repeated use of the term "Jungle Raj" to describe the RJD's earlier tenure, as political exchanges between the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the opposition Mahagathbandhan intensified ahead of polling for the Assembly elections.

Patna (Bihar) [India], November 1 (ANI): Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and Mahagathbandhan's chief ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav on Saturday hit back at the BJP's "Jungle Raj" barbs, taking a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over a firing incident in Bihar's Rohtas district.
He questioned whether such incidents reflected the "Prime Minister-certified good governance" often claimed by the ruling alliance.
In a post on X, the RJD leader wrote, "Respected Prime Minister Shri @narendramodiji, there was heavy firing today in Rohtas district. Several people have reportedly been injured. I hope you will include this incident under the 'Prime Minister-certified acts of good governance' and call it 'Mangal Raj' while criticising 'Jungle Raj'. Thank you!"

Tejashwi Yadav shared his earlier post referring to a double murder in Arrah. "Respected Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji, you must be aware that yesterday in Arrah, father and son Pramod Kushwaha and Priyanshu Kushwaha were shot dead by criminals protected by those in power."
According to police, two youths were injured in the Rohtas incident, which police said stemmed from personal enmity. The injured, identified as Priyanshu Pathak and Himanshu, sustained bullet wounds on their hands and were admitted to Sasaram Sadar Hospital. Both are residents of Bhavadih village but currently stay in rented accommodation in Sasaram.
After the firing, local police officials reached the spot and began an investigation. SDPO Dilip Kumar said the accused had been identified and further action was being taken.
Yadav's remarks came amid a series of violent incidents in Bihar.
Earlier, a father-son duo was shot dead in Arrah by unidentified assailants, and a man, identified as Dularchand Yadav, was found dead, and several others were injured following a clash between alleged supporters of the Jan Suraaj Party and the Janata Dal (United) in Mokama assembly constituency.
The RJD has accused the NDA government in Bihar of failing to maintain law and order, while the ruling defended its record, highlighting what it describes as a period of "good governance" and "development."
Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, addressing a virtual rally in Gopalganj after his flight was cancelled due to bad weather, urged voters to support the NDA for continued progress. "I apologise for the large number of people gathered here in support of the NDA. But due to bad weather, permission was not granted to travel from Patna to Gopalganj, so I am speaking to you all virtually," he said.
The Bihar Assembly elections for the 243-seat will be held in two phases on November 6 and 11. The results will be declared on November 14. (ANI)
