New Delhi [India], Mar. 2 (ANI): President Pranab Mukherjee on Thursday condoled the death of the veteran Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member Haji Abdul Salam. In a message to Abdul Salam's wife Najida Begum, President Mukherjee said he was distressed to learn about the demise of Haji Salam. "Veteran Congress leader Haji Salam served the nation and the people of Manipur with utmost dedication. He shall long be remembered for his commitment to the cause of communal harmony and upliftment of marginalised sections of our society. Please accept my heartfelt condolences. I pray to the Almighty to give you and the members of your family the strength to bear this irreparable loss," President Mukherjee said in the message. (ANI)
