New Delhi [India], Aug 5 (ANI): Vice President-elect Venkaiah Naidu thanked President Ram Nath Kovind for congratulating him on his victory in the 15th Vice-Presidential elections, on Saturday.

New Delhi [India], Aug 5 (ANI): Vice President-elect Venkaiah Naidu thanked President Ram Nath Kovind for congratulating him on his victory in the 15th Vice-Presidential elections, on Saturday. Wishes have been pouring in from citizens as well as politicians from all over the country, and one of them is the former president Pranab Mukherjee. Chief Ministers and MPs from all over are pouring their greeting on the newly elect Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu, with many of them tweeting their congratulations with Prime Minister being the first one to do so. Venkaiah Naidu was elected as the 13th Vice President of India with 516 votes. Whereas, Opposition nominee Gopalkrishna Gandhi has secured 244 votes. Total 771 out of 785 MPs cast their votes today. However, it was revealed that 14 Members of Parliament (MPs) were not present during the voting process. Voting for Vice Presidential Election ended with a total poll percentage of 98.21%. The voting began at 10 a.m. earlier in the day. (ANI)
