New Delhi [India], February 6 (ANI): Union Minister Chirag Paswan on Thursday lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his speech in Rajya Sabha, saying that he raised all the points with facts. He added that the Prime Minister gave reasons regarding why India has remained stagnant in terms of achieving the status of a "developed nation" while presenting the achievements of his government over the last 10 years.
Paswan was referring to PM Modi's speech, where he targeted Congress for its past actions. The Union Minister further said that the NDA government's politics was about "shantushtikaran" (total saturation) and not "tushtikaran" (appeasement).
"Prime Minister Modi presented his point with facts. He presented the achievements of the government over the last 10 years. He also explained the reasons why the country has not been able to move forward till now. He (PM Modi) said this is the politics of 'shantushtikaran', not 'tushtikaran'. The people of the nation have resolved to make the nation 'Viksit Bharat' by 2047. We always thought about when India will remain a developing nation. The Prime Minister set that aim for us," Paswan told ANI.
Meanwhile, SP Singh Baghel, a junior minister in the Union government, said that the Prime Minister's speech was based on facts. The country has gone backwards as the Congress indulged in "anti-constitutional" activities, he added.
"The PM mentioned all the things, which Congress did against the constitution, reservation and the welfare of the public because of which the country has gone backwards," Baghel said.
Earlier in the day, PM Modi accused Congress of appeasement politics and said the BJP-led NDA government works for "shantushtikaran" (total saturation) and not "tushtikaran".
In his reply in Rajya Sabha to the motion of thanks on the motion of thanks on the President's Address, PM Modi said the government lives by the ideal of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas'.
"We have tried to ensure that India's resources are optimally utilised. We've taken an approach of saturation. We've tried and ensured that the schemes reach the beneficiaries without any pilferages. In the last decade, we've worked with the idea of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas' and that has brought results," he said. (ANI)
